March 2025 Fishing Report
It has been quite some time since we did an update directly on our website but we have definitely been catching plenty of fish. In the last year since our most recent fishing report we have run over 300 trips and caught hundreds of sailfish, dolphin, kingfish, and more. The boat is running great and our crew is doing as well as ever.
We will do our best to post more consistently with this post covering some of our more recent outings during March of 2025.
Overall this has been an interesting year of fishing. WInter started a bit slow during January and early February but the sailfish bite really turned on just in time for the Sailfish Challenge which took place from February 19-23rd. This tournament saw one of the best sailfish bites in years an average of close to 20 releases per boat on just the first day. These were tournament numbers but its safe to say the fishery is as healthy as ever which is an encouraging sign because sailfish are one of the most important gamefish we target.
March Charter Fishing off Miami
On the charter side we have been seeing more modest numbers off Miami but we have still been catching around 3 sailfish average per day sometimes seeing 10 or more when the conditions line up. We spend a lot of time kite fishing for sailfish from November-May with primetime being March and April. The shot below was taken by Kris during one of our more recent trips.
Additional Species off Miami
In addition to sails we have been catching a handful of wahoo per month which has been refreshing as we never see them with very much consistency. We typically catch our wahoo off the planers while trolling which is a unique and very productive technique. In addition to wahoo, there have also been kingfish as well as a few dolphin around on the edge. Spring is great because we do most of our fishing near shore in just 100-300 feet of water. By fishing just 3-5 miles out we are able to make even shorter trips such as half days productive when the conditions cooperate this time of year.
We should see great fishing for the next 2-3 months as the sailfish bite should continue. In addition we expect the blackfin tuna to show up in decent numbers by late April. Overall this is one of our favorite times to fish so you are encouraged to reach out and schedule a trip.
